I often see ‘wellness this’ and ‘wellness that’ advertised and wondered, ok, but how do I actually implement this into my life? I need useful wellness tips that I can actually use!
Like, I get it, we need to be ‘well’
We need to focus on our health and wellbeing and ideally live a stress-free vegan lifestyle. However, in reality, how is this really long-winded eBook or 4-week course ‘easy to follow’ wellness, for an everyday lifestyle? It’s not! So, I was put off completely and became the very opposite of ‘wellness’,
I was in fact frustrated at how hard wellness was to obtain as a busy professional.
What initially turned me off of the word ‘wellness’, was my inability to find how to implement it into my reality. I’d would get a taster from a yoga weekend or read an amazing book on holistic wellness, but then as soon as I went back to work, anything I had learned and enjoyed was tossed out of the window and ‘old news’ by Tuesday, or as soon as my emails spiraled out of control.
Implementing wellness into everyday life
It’s not always easy to dedicate an hour a day to meditation, or plan your diet expertly when you’ve had to work late or grab something on the go. A lot of what I’d had exposure to required more time or planning than I had available in my busy corporate schedule. Which is unfortunate, given that corporate working professionals need wellness more than anyone!
Wellness is actually more accessible than the industry would have you believe, the images display yogi’s out in the middle of nowhere meditating and peaceful relaxing somewhere gorgeous. However, the most effective wellness techniques are those we can carry with us throughout our day-to-day. The habits that help us with relaxation within our usual routines.
Did you know?
Do you know you can actually meditate while you walk? Or sat down looking over the lake at lunchtime? Obviously, those images aren’t going viral any time soon on Insta! So the information available is more limited.
So how can the wellness movement be amended, so that it can actually be implemented into a full-time worker lifestyle?
