How often do you sit for 10 minutes in total silence with absolutely no distractions whatsoever around you, to just check in with how you feel?
Your body, your mind, your energy, all running around trying to keep up with our busy lives and even busier schedules, but do we ever just sit back and ask ourselves, how on earth we are actually doing?
Unlikely – We are all too busy trying to keep up with the fast pace of 2019
So the answer is no, generally not.
We are demanding more and more of ourselves and piling on more pressure than ever before.
And spend less and less time away from our phone and laptops, in the peaceful tranquillity of our own space, to repair.
We as humans are an incredible species, we have the amazing capacity to adapt to our surroundings no matter how hard they may become.
The body will grow tougher, more resilient and become increasingly more capable to keep up with a demanding environment.
That’s how smart our bodies truly are.
We become more tolerable to stress, our adrenals begin to adapt and our body begins to live in ‘fight or flight’ to keep up according to our own expectations that we have placed upon ourselves.
The mind may even become ‘used’ to it all;
However, it’s the soul is that we need to check in with.
Tuning in with the soul can be the secret tonic you need, the kick up the arse to remind you to pull back here and there.
Often the practice of meditation yoga or solo walks can be the secret weapon in preventing illness or, helping you figure out within your own mind that you need to make some changes.
Perhaps you’ll discover that you need more family and time, less work.
or even different work altogether may come to you in your time of solace.
Perhaps you will have the pull towards more exercise or ‘you time’ in general.
All the answers are there for us, when we can find the time to check in and listen.
Here are the four important reasons you should start to focus on your own wellness:
- You will have so much more energy to tackle the hardest times that life throws at you
It’s no secret, meditation is a special practice with the ability to be incredibly uplifting.

When you take some time out for you, you will have more energy to take on the world.

When you start to focus on wellness,
you begin to align more with how you feel and even what you want (or don’t want, which is just as important).
You can then start removing the things that are not making you feel good,
placing more energy and focus on the things that bring you joy and fulfillment.
You will notice the things that are not serving you, stand out like a sore thumb.
With a clearer mind and more focus on the things that are enhancing you,
you will then make firmer decisions on what to release from your life,
working your way closer to what is more aligned with your purpose,
and how you can get the very best out of yourself.
- You will have more vitality and give your body the best chance to fight illness and disease
Wellness isn’t just meditation, it’s becoming more aware of the food you eat,
